Layla El was born on June 25, 1978. She is a British professional wrestling diva of North African heritage. Layla currently lives in the United States. She is a wrestler for the WWE , and appears on the ECW brand. Before joining WWE in 2006, Layla El was a dancer for the Miami Heat of the NBA. Layla El first got in to the world of professional wrestling after her trainer suggested she try out for the WWE Diva Search contest in 2006. She was 28 years old when she won the Diva Search, making her the oldest woman to date to win the competition. She is first person not born in the United States and the first person with an African background to win the Diva Search contest.
